Many women wish to be employed. Well depending on skills, there are a variety of job opportunities in Riyadh, although government restrictions on women working in the same offices as men still remain in place.
Embassies in Saudi sponsor women groups where the ladies can and engage in a variety of sports activities such as tennis and golf, handicraft activities such as quilting and embroidery, and academic pursuits such as foreign language conversation circles, book discussion groups, and bridge competitions.
Qualified teachers, accountants, librarians, and secretaries have chances to be hired by the international schools and those with master level qualifications or with English as the second language usually pursue a teaching job at the woman’s university. Again private tutoring is another option for those with the right skills.
Coming to Hospitals, these are an exception to the gender-segregation rules. Nurses, doctors, dentists and other health care professions are always in demand.Qualified accountants, lawyers and architects can find employment if they look carefully. One such resource is the volunteer-run professional women’s network which meets at ACS.
Many skilled women pursue independent contract or sales work, taking advantage of the free-lance nature of the work to establish their own schedules. Others take the opportunity to try something completely different.
Expatriate women have successfully engaged in desk-top publishing for news letters and brochures. Women who are fully engaged in handicrafts often find that the compound and organization bazaars are an outlet for their handmade items, particularly those that are seasonal.
Women may also volunteer to work with charity organizations or in schools, such as the Down Syndrome Center run by the al-Nahda Society or the American International School.

Dear Anita,
Its so woderful to have found your website.
I am an Indian and have recently moved to Riyadh. I have majored in Psychology, Trained as a Special Educator, then trained as a hospitality educator and have an MBA in Human Resources.
In India, my last position was as the Training Manager for 2 hotels for India's best respected Hopitality chain in Mumbai, and I have worked as a hospitality educator for the past 7 years.
However, I find myself a bit lost in Riyadh. I would like to get into a MNC, corporate sort of set-up. I also have a 2-year diploma in computer programming, but to be truthful, I have never used that knowledge professionally.
I am adept at MS Office, and speak English much better than I speak Hindi.
I wonder if you can help me, or guide me.
I look forward to hearing from you. You may mail me at rashmidixitsharma@yahoo.com
Best regards,
Rashmi.
I am a Computer Systems Engineer from Pakistan. I have also done Masters in Computer Systems Engineering.

Please let me know if there are any job openings anywhere in KSA. You may email me at dranne27@hotmail.com.
